How payment works (escrow)

Escrow β€” the security in every Helpo job

All payments on Helpo go through a neutral account (escrow). It protects both parties: the customer never pays for a job that doesn't get done, and the provider knows the money exists before the work starts.

Step by step

  1. The customer accepts a provider β€” the payment is reserved in the neutral account
  2. The provider does the job β€” the money is locked in the meantime
  3. The customer approves β€” both parties confirm the work is complete
  4. The money is released β€” the provider receives the payment, minus the platform fee

Payment methods

We accept card payments (Visa, Mastercard) via our payment partner Stripe. Your card details are never handled by Helpo directly.

If something goes wrong

If you can't agree that the job is complete, either party can open a dispute. The money stays locked until the dispute is resolved β€” either through a settlement between you, or through a review and decision by Helpo's support team.

Receipts

After every completed job you'll find the receipt under Payments in your dashboard.
